Is this a gloat?

Ron in Drums PA

>I was offered to display my turnings at the local library for the whole month of September. I will be the only artist in the two 8" display cases as you enter the building. The only draw back might be is that one window gets about 2 hours of indirect sunlight in the afternoon.

There are no galleries in our town and this so I guess this is the next best thing.

What do you think, should I go for it?

>Ron,

How many of your turnings are going to fit in that 8 inch display case. Just kidding. Congratulations.

Like, Duh!

>Jump at it. And be sure to put a sign in there with a contact number. Our club had an opportunity to do the same thing, but we only had one 8' display case to share. We couldn't put anything in there about sales, but we were allowed to put a little bifold card in with our name and email or telephone number. Congrats! Take any opportunity to be seen.

That's a good idea about the bifold card, I should set up a website too.

>Ron, I would say this qualifies as a gloat. I had the same opportunity a number of years ago when we were still living in Easton. The library would not sell any of my stuff, but they were happy to provide contact information, and I got some sales as a result. All you need to do is find somone who can print up some cards for you! ;-)

I know just the right person to print those business cards. IMOF I think I'll have them printed on real maple wood. Or maybe cedar, or cherry even!

>Ron,

I would jump at any opportunity to have others see my work. It can only lead to bigger and better things.

If you don't mind my asking, how did this whole thing with the library come about?
