>9.75 in. x 4.25 in. This piece was commissioned by a co-worker after I sold her some olive spheres. This bowl has a small bead foot about one sixteenth of an inch tall so it looks like it's sitting on a very thin ring. Olive is one of my favorite woods to turn. This piece of wood came from along North Central Avenue in Phoenix, AZ. All comments welcome.

>Great wood; great shape. I'm partial to the beaded foot myself. I also like the way that type of lip provides continuity of the grain pattern. Nice work.

>Paul,

the bowl is awesome and the wood beautiful. Tell me, if you found the wood on the road, is olive plentiful where you are? Would you consider a trade for cherry, maple, and/or hickory? Looking at some of your other olive vessels the last week or two inspired me to buy some African olive while I was in San Diego last week. It looks like the domestic version is every bit as interesting.

Let me know if you're interested.

>Nice piece Paul.

How lucky can a guy get to lay hands on a piece of olive wood that size?

>Hi Paul,

This is a great looking bowl. The small bead for a foot gives it something special.

>The big stuff is real hard to come by. You almost have to be there when they cut the tree down. And I have some even larger pieces.
