>John, I realize that I am a PIA, but is this the effect you are looking for as far as a tapering of the background blur... I should probably back the brightness of the pen off a touch...

Again thanks so much.... I get a little anal when I am trying to get something just right... LOL..

>I am not John but in my opinion, the blurred background is a vast improvement, but again in my opinion, it is a bit busy and competes with the beautiful pen to much. I personally like the brightness level of the pen. It really stands out and that is what the picture is all about.

>You're there, Tom. Technically, it's great. Composition: very nice contrast of the wood grain/gold and the B&W background. Lick it, stick it, send it :)

Isn't photo shop fun. You can play endlessly changing things. The nice thing is you can bring the 1st picture up and compare it to the last (if you saved them) so that you can see if what you did really worked. Keep shooting and playing. It's fun to see the progression. Hopefully we all learn from these exercises.
