HAd my first turning class today

Carole in VA

>Took a bowl turning class at the Norfolk Woodcraft. I must say it was excellent (except for my feet, knees and back aching from standing on the concrete floor for 7 hours! LOL) Mucked up my bowl a bit with a couple of catches after it had been turned too thin to totally repair, but that's okay 'cause I learned a lot...hopefully enough to avoid it in the future. Jack Spillane (HatchetJack) was a very competent, eager and personable teacher! Can't wait to get into some of my blanks now! Thanks, Jack. :)

>Great Carole,

That's a good feeling to get the first lesson under your belt. From here...it's a long and thrilling road! Have a blast!

I still remember my first lesson. My friend Joe Looper had me over for a day and tought me more in one day about green wood turning than I had learned in years of dry wood turning. I still don't turn a lot of green wood but still use those same techniques.
