>Has anyone used this product from Packard? Mikeincapemay sent me the link ....my tpi is 1/14 x 8 and so I can get a wine bottle stopper chuck for a reasonable price. Given that I would only be turning stoppers, what are your thoughts on using this in teh head stock and then getting the $10 bottle stopper thingy?

>It would likely work. A better solution is a headstock spindle adaptor.

Spindle adaptor

The Packard tailstock adaptor is made of soft aluminum. There is almost certinaly a little runout.

The bottle stoper chuck is little more than a screw chuck with a 3/8" bolt for the screw. You could mount such threaded stock in a jacobs chuck or in pin jaws of a scroll chuck to get the same sort of bottle stoper holding.

>Ruth, You might want to give them a call and talk about it. I don't have one and don't know if it has morse taper or is held in a Jacob chuck.
