Hey, I did good!

tdaniel

>This is the little pick-up that I went to Texas to pick-up a couple of weeks ago. This little dude has never had any rust, none, nada. I am reworking the brakes now and a few seals need replacing but it is roadworthy and I expect to have it in Gainesville at the SSS next month. Hayride anyone?

Nice!

>Even managed to turn the wheels the same size!

This is the one you bought unseen? Wow.

>One sweet truck TD. I've got my eye on one myself. Unfortunately, it does have some rust on it. I think it was parked in a field because the engine went belly up. Might be fun to rework though.

Turn 'em round,

>Terry,

Absolutely beautiful!! I'm envious, but happy for you. My first truck, a chevy and a wee bit newer than yours, though before trucks were so popular, also had 3 on the column.

Have fun!

>Nice truck, Terry. Is the engine still a 292 incher, or has it been upgraded?

Good luck and many many troublefree miles.

>TD,

You have too many toys!!! You hit a home run with this one though!

My first car was a '67 with 3 on the tree, It was a lot of fun to drive.

>Beautiful Terry! What a purty truck - I got to see pictures a few days ago on Jonathan Bruce's laptop. But, it's not looking good for the Symposium this year for me, 'cause the engine in my 4Runner just threw a rod... But I might make it; don't have too much fun in that truck! Nothin' better than a three on the tree - my old '67 with the column shift is still running strong.

Doug, it is a "Y" block ....

tdaniel

>but I am not certain if it is a 272 or a 292. With the 3.92:1 rear-end it has plenty of pulling power; gets 20 mpg too (at 45-50mph).

Thanks all....

>I just finished going thru the front brakes, new cylinders, new rubber lines, turned the drums, painted all nearby parts, etc. It'll take time but finally I have one that I can work on and if it breaks down I already have an extra set of points and condenser in the dashbox; I'll be back on the road in minutes. I am sick of having a computer that quits without warning leaving me stranded wherever it decides is a good place. Ahh, the good ole days when even kids could work on their cars!

A Beauty, eh!!

Jim Shaver - Oakville, Ontario

>That is so wonderful!!

I remember when I was in school at the University of New Brunswick (1977-), there was a guy in residence from bathurst NB who had a version of the same truck. His name was John Strazio (AKA.. Straz).

We called the truck "The Strazmobile".....man that brings back some good memories..

Take care of that baby...she's'a keeper!!

Take care,

Jim
