lyptus bowl (last one!)

>Ok, one more then I quit. I turned this from bone dry lyptus as sort of a challenge. About 8-1/2" in diameter.

This stuff feels like turning granite - very hard with chunks and dust flying everywhere at first, grain tearing, ack! Required extremely sharp tools, a light touch, and much very light use of normal and cabinet scrapers. Oil, buffed, and wax finish.

Please excuse the poor color correction in the upper photo. The actual color is more like the lower photo.

>Color correction or no - it's gorgeous. That's some mighty pretty wood (and a very nice form).

>Ooooo...I like it John....very nice. The underside was a nice surprise...I wasn't expecting it to be shaped like that.

Beautiful!
