Bottle Stoppers + Gloat

Ruth Niles

>These are the latest stoppers I turned that will be going to The Wood Turning Center in Phila. (that's the gloat, by the way!) Tina LaCoff now has a "store" in the museum where she sells affordable items. She has my coffee scoops, mushroom toothpick holders and these bottle stoppers. I am very honored to have my turnings offered in that building.

>Congratulations Ruth. I bet she's pleased as punch to have your work for sale. These are delightful. My favorite is the apple. I see you're using your redesigned stopper bases too. I like these much better than the old design.

>Good for you!! I am sure you will have many sales out of the store. And I don't think I have ever met better people that Tina and Albert.

Except for you, of course :)

Congrats again,

Dave

>Congratulations Ruth. When I looked at your website recently, I liked the mushroom versions, and I'd bet that they are a good seller for you. Then again.......maybe I have unusual tastes in bottle stoppers. ;o)

>Thank you all for the congrats!

Molly, you have good taste (but WE already knew that!), the apple is the most popular seller.

Mike, the stoppers on my website are on the regular chrome stoppers, the ones that were rejected by Tina and Albert LaCoff. But I like the mushroom, too.

>Hi Ruth,

I am pleased to know you have a red maple leaf flying proudly in your shop.

It's great to make friends via turning, I hope that I can help again if you ever need any.

I also have been through your web site a few times, I enjoy your work.

Take care,

Jim

>Thanks again to everyone for the comments. : )

Keith, yes, I did try the detail gouge. And you were right (again), I love it and reach for it more than any other tool except maybe the skew. You were right, it was very grabby in the beginning but I kept saying to myself, "Keith said it's the best so keep practicing"! Thanks.
