I came across 2 bidseye maple cylinders roughly 2" x 18". I knew that I "needed them", and suspected that they'd make pretty nice handles for a bowl gouge.

Now, I "need" another 1/2" bowl gouge :-)

I think the guy who sells them on eBay is a pool cue manufacturer who sells either shorts or rejects. One man's trash is another's treasure.
