PM90 faceplate question
Dennis Reid
>Howdy folks, new to turning but a long time lurker on the turning board. Just purchased an '83 PM90 about 2 months ago and I'm looking for an outboard faceplate/handwheel. A little background 1st. After not getting any help from the parts manual, or their parts/service people, I found a part # in an old price list for this faceplate. I did buy one from Powermatic and after a 2 week wait, rec'd it Friday. Didn't notice before but when I tried to screw it on, I noticed it was not threaded. Still not sure if I ordered the right one or what. From what I've seen on these before, these look to be cast aluminum and are rounded over on the outside edge. The one I was sent is cast iron and has a flat lip. Anyone has any idea what is the deal? I've read some great posts here that have helped me in the past and seems like I've almost forgotten about all of my other WW equipment since playing with the lathe. Is this normal?
Thanks, Dennis Reid
