Sanding Pad

>My new 2" sanding pad I just bought came unglued... literally..

There's 2 seperate pieces of foam, one fairly firm one and then one that's a little softer, then the velcro pad... the glue apparently failed between the 2 foam pads...

What kind of glue do you think they used at the manufacturer to originally adhere these 2 foam pads together?

Contact cement?

I'd like to repair it if I can... Steve already sent me a replacement, and I'll just pay him for the new one he sent if I can successfully repair the one that broke... otherwise I need to just send it back to him...

I used spray on adhesive.

>My Sorby Sandmaster came apart shortly after I bought it, and I used the spray on adhesive which I bought to attach the 12" sanding discs to my Delta sander. The instructions said to spray one side for a removable attachment, and both sides for a permanent attachment. I sprayed both for the Sorby repair, and it is still holding just great.

>You need a pliable join and contact cement like Goodyear Pliobond or even Gorilla glue. Apply to both surfaces and wait until it is mostly set before touching parts together- make sure its aligned properly because you don't get a second chance!
