Does anyone know him? I received an offline email message from him offering to sell me a set of Veritas chisels. I answered and passed. But now I can't find his profile or any messages here on the site. (If you do exist on this site, Butch, I apologize , but I can't find you.)

Be careful when contacted by persons you have never heard of with funny monikers offering to sell you exactly what you are looking for.

I was being careful and didn't fall for it. And there's no sign of this guy around here. So it was indeed a scam; and as you say. people should be on guard.

I looked up Wayne “Butch” Fuder on line. Seems like a real person. If you are looking for something fishy, check out that story about steel from Europe.

The only red flag is Mr. Fuder's age, at 73 he is too young for WoodCentral.:-)
