GEO H BISHOP & CO scraper blade

Years ago I bought a Stanley 112 scraper plane. It has 3 holes drilled in eah side, I think this is how the owner marked it as his. I replaced the iron with a Hock. Recently I found the iron that came with it and cleaned it up some, it is marked GEO H BISHOP& CO. I know they made saws, had no idea they made scraper blades. I thought it was rather unusual.

I’d be surprised if all saw makers didn’t make scrapers. Imagine how much waste cutting saw blanks would generate.

I don't buy a lot of scrapers, the ones I use came brand new from Lee Valley and they have no trademark stamped on them. I had no idea it was common to find scraper blades with saw maker's trademarks stamped on them.

Mose, years ago I remember you used to post early on Saturday morning. I would be up early and find you had posted at 5:30 or so. This time you posted at 3:50 AM. Awfully late or awfully early.
Back in the 1970s the Sandvik Company used to make saws and scrapers. The scrapers had a light etch. Woodcrafts still sells them, but now they say Bahco.
