Coordinated Set
David Weaver
thus far, I've been making the chisels without paying that much attention to one being similar to another. Which makes sense when you're making them freehand.
But I figure now that I have a large supply of files (so not dealing with some being thin or narrow or whatever), I'm attempting to make a few sets that look like sets.
Still just with the bolster shrunk (i'm not convinced reading around that forge welding the bolster is a great idea if the high heat source is heavily oxygenated - the bolster gets welded, but I may be burning the steel involved and making it weaker vs. forge heat being attained in a coal forge in the center above the oxygenated part of the fire. I don't have a coal forge and won't because the chimney is on the other side of my house in a finished area).
All will be handled soon.
