Messageboard format comments and test
Bill Houghton, sunny Turkey day in Sebastopol, CA
>I've got a 13-1/2" (diagonal measure) monitor - relatively small, I guess, but it's what came in the package I got. I'm noticing that (a) the whole index isn't visible (for instance, ad banners toward the top right of the screen are chopped off or, who knows, may be hidden, (b) when the messages display, if a subject or person's name/address runs longer than the space, it rather awkwardly runs onto the next line, and (c) when a message is displayed, the thread index at the bottom runs under the ads.
I encountered one glitch with a message from Dan Donaldson not showing the thread index below it (part of the messageboard format thread, titled "Re: Geez, that was fast!", with a Thursday, November 21, 2007, 6:01 p.m. date/time stamp (don't know if that time stamp is California time or forum time). I assume that's anomalous - haven't run into it anywhere else.
Given the rather tight constraints on messages, I'm wondering how photos will display, and am posting a test photo here, of the trim work on our kitchen remodel, done earlier this week. This is a 6" wide picture, close to my standard photo size (and under 40KB out of respect for those with dialup access).
