Record 043 Plane Follow Up

>Thanks to several people here I followed up on some leads and now am the owner of a Record 43
I am pleased with the purchase, although I have not tried it out yet it looks perfect for my needs. It also came with three cutters.
My shop is a bit cold right now and my hip is not ready for shop work so working with this plane might have to wait till spring.

>Last time I had to take some tools on the road I discovered that the little #43 plow is a real gem in the toolbox. You can (of course) plow grooves with it, but you can also cut rabbets. A block plane will hog off the bulk of the rabbet after plowing a groove. Dadoes can also be cut with the 43 if you score the shoulders first. Can be a bit of a mess if you're not careful, especially with the potential for blow-out at the end of the dado, but it can be done.
The flooring project would have been a LOT tougher without the #43.
