Browns Auction - the Loot

>I went looking for carving chisels to expand the range of my sweeps and specialty wooden planes. I did well with the chisels, finding six nicely priced Addis and one D.R.Barton here and there at the room and dealer sales. I was hoping to find a pair of snipe bill and side round planes, but the few pairs found were beyond my budget. My best deal was finding a matched pair of cabinet pitch (60 degrees) rule joint planes by D.R. Barton in one of the room sales. The price was twenty dollars for the pair! The other great find were the John Fray braces and the small Miller Falls plane, all for $25. The bits were $20, the books list price, and the carving tools were $10-15 each. There was good value if you were looking and all the Dealers dropped their prices a bit if you asked.
