Browns Auction 2007
Paul in NJ
>My friend John Aniano and I attended the Browns Auction this year. We did not stay for the actual auction today but were there for tool sales in various rooms Thursday evening (maybe 12 rooms) and we attended the dealer sale on Friday after lunch. There were supposed to be about 100 dealers and I did not see empty tables or spaces. There was an area set up in the same room where you could examine and preview all the tools that were up for bidding today in the auction.
Paul Hamler was there with his reproduction Millers Patent planes and Jim Leamy had his reproduction plows for sale too. There were many NIB and mint tools for sale through out the room. It was nice to see a fair amount of 18th century planes and be able to examine them up close and personal.
Pricing on average was high since many of the tools were pristine but there were plenty of good values and I got a couple of great buys in the room sales. It was great to see all these tools in one spot.
