Source for PSA backed sandpaper for sharpening?
Dominic Greco in Richboro PA
>Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a source for good quality adhesive backed paper to use with my scary sharp system. Currently I buy paper from Lowes of Home Depot, cut it to size, and spray adhesive on it. It's a royal PITA to get this all ready to go, and twice as much as a pain to get it OFF!
I want to get ALL the grits I use in PSA backed sandpaper. I start with 80 grit (to flatten soles), then move to 120, 220, 400, 600, and finally 800. From there I use some 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper to polish the soles, or use a 4000 waterstone for blades.
I checked out Industrial Abrasives, Supergrit Abrasives and wasn't able to find the grits I needed. On Klingspor's Woodworking's Site I did find PSA backed "Abrasive Rolls for Finishing & Sharpening" in Silicon Carbide Wet/Dry and Heavy Weight Alum Oxide rolls. Each roll is 6" wide x 6 meters long. These look like it could be the ticket.
I just wanted to know if anyone here has used them, or knows of an alternative source.
Thanks in advance.
Dominic
