>I took Todd's class (not at MASW) and all I can say is it is GREAT! He's an excellent teacher who can pass on a lot of tricks. If not for other reason, it's worth it to take the class just to really learn how to tune a wooden plane. I heartily recommend any class with Todd.

I would, however, ask about class size as I think that Mark has been letting class size really creep up, which can somewhat dimimish the experience.

>I would give Tod a call or e-mail and go to a class in his shop. Faster, cheaper, fewer people. Marc's classes are way too big, and the teachers are stuck teaching to the lowest level of the class. He has some nice equipment, though, and some good instructors. Tod is a great guy and a fine teacher. He goes out to Old Mille Cabinet Shop a couple times a year if that is closer to you.

I know he is coming out with a plane making video through LN due out this fall, and I will buy it for sure. His planes are a bit more traditional than Tod's, and I think LN is going to offer tapered irons to make half sets. Tod doesn't use tapered irons. I would like to take the rail and stile class from Tod, and make a bunch of hollows and rounds from Larry's instructions. Not enough days in the year...
