As you see from the link at the top of the page, we've launched a new contest that we hope you all will participate in. For one thing, you can't go wrong, as all contestants will receive two magazine subscriptions and a Lee Valley lumber thickness gauge. For another, we've lowered the entry fee to $10 to encourage participation.
Now, I'm still hoping to update the contest page to include a bunch of photos of some of the kinds of tools that contestants might want to enter. I know that many of you are making tools all the time, so I'm wondering if you could send me images of some of them for the web page. I can't nab shots from other sites or from published work without going through the rights hassle, so your volunteered shots are my best bet.
This contest is different from all our previous contests in that there will be three equal-weight first prizes, based on a combination of function, appearance and ergonomics. So, rev up your creative juices, think about how you can build a winning tool and mark your calendar. This one is going to be a good one.
