Yet another Bench

Kevin French, Antrim, NH

>This is the year of the bench for me. Here is the fourth of the year. A friend of mine wanted a bench for the entryway.

It's been a long time since I built a project from actual lumber. I figur why spend all that time cutting lumber to size, planing it smooth, etc, etc...

I knew if I waited something would come along.

It only took about a week and a half and a nice old twin bed showed up at the dump. I knew I had my bench. I cut the rails down added some pieces for the seat = completely satisfied friend.

>Roger that. They are behind the large dark dowels The bed didn't have the ornate metal covers with it. We played with some brass plates and a couple other options but settled with turning a dowel down to fit. I stain it darker to highlight it.

Kevin's First Law junk restoation; If you can't hide it, accent it.
