Double Hacksaw

>As I mentioned on the chat last night, this is a copy of a double hacksaw that appeared in L'Art de Tournier by Charles Plummier published in 1792.
One end is threaded and the other is a loose socket, by turning the center strut the saw is tightened or loosened. One blade is coarse and the other is fine.
The ruler is 6".

The first thing I thought when I saw this tool was that it was in the same catagory as a board stretcher, for cutting shelf dados in both sides of an assembled cabinet or something like that. But then, my mind works in strange ways...
Interesting concept, if only for the cleverness factor. I suppose it could be made as a joinery saw with a crosscut blade on one side and a rip blade on the other. Thanks for posting!
