>Bill - When I buy lumber at Frank Miller lumber in Union City all of the lumber in their warehouse is identified by the color of the ends of the boards. There are hundreds of bundles stacked very high. So I guess for this yard board end color is more than cosmetic. They have a very good description of the quartered/rift saw process for those that are interested. Regards to Judy.
