I did find the instructions to the dehumidifier while picking up a bit. I see where I can attach a garden hose to it. No more emptying the bucket. :>)

- Amount of water in the air at Houston's relative humidity and temperature at this time of year: 25 g H2O/kg air

- Density of air: 1.2 kg/m3

- Density of water: 3785 grams/gallon

If I multiply all this out, I get that at this time of year in Houston, 126 cubic meters of air will hold one gallon of water. That's 4450 cubic feet, or about the volume of a 22'x20'x10' shop. Circulate that volume of air 3.5 times over the course of a day, and that's your 3.5 gallons of water.

Must admit that even with a/c set at 82 walking into the shop last evening sure felt good. I mean the house a/c is set to hold 76 degrees and the shop felt cooler at 82.

Got to start disassembling planes this evening to see just how bad they realy are. I'll try to post a pic or two.

Cleaned up a stanley #3, a 5-1/4 (one of my favorites) and a BU block plane. Even made some curly gossamer like shavings.
