switching ISP to higher speed
Moses Yoder in White Pigeon, MI
>Our contract is running out on our net service provider, so we did some looking into a local provider that offers service via satellite towers in our area. As near as I can determine it is my only option for high speed internet in the area I am in. Although I am not a computer expert by any stretch of the imagination, no matter what my dad thinks. Our contract runs out sometime tomorrow and I expect to get kicked off line at any minute. Our antennae and service hookup is scheduled for Wednesday morning, August 8. The neat thing is that we will replace our land line service and have 512 kbps with a phone line for the same amount of dough as we were spending for a land line and 28 kbps service before. There is a good chance that if you send me an email telling me how stupid I am to not have done this several years ago, I will never actually receive the mail because I will be offline for a week and a half or so. I am kind of looking forward to the always on web and not having to skip messages because someone decided their 6 billion megapixel camera takes really awesome pictures. Plus, I might actually read and respond to my emails now because it will no longer take 15 minutes to open the mail. Now that I think about it, I really am looking forward to it.
