Old Oak Hobby Lathe

Bob Haines

>I look for information concerning an old hobby lathe that my wife found at a monthly antique market in Dupage County, IL (burbs of Chicago)this past weekend. It is constructed entirely of oak except for a metal pulley (no motor), about 28 long and is in very restorable condition. It has what appears to be the original manufacturers tag:

Hobby Lathe

Model C

Rose Bros Mfg Co

Waterford Conn

My guess it is from the early 1900s through 1930 at the latest, but its just a guess. I would appreciate any information or a point in the right direction. We have exhausted our old tool reference library and the obvious internet google searches.

I have also p[osted this on the turning board.

Thanks

Bob Haines
