>Did I say I got the celing fan installed? it is up I have a shed type roof and the celing sloapes with it so to hang the fan level one side of the fan hang's down from the celing how would you all make this look right?

>Really looking very nice Ernie, I like the beadboard treatment alot. I wouldn't worry over the fan on the sloping ceiling one little bit. I still vote that you turn it into a mini shop. With all those windows you'll never want for natural light.

I would either hang it from a short section of rod or if that brings it too low,attach a wedged block between the base of the light and the ceiling.---Jack

>Ernie: How about fabricating a wedge shaped disk to level the fan. Disk would be a bit greater diameter than the fan housing and could have a routed, decorative edge. A short downrod might be best answer but might not be compatible with a "hugger" style fan. Do you have headroom to drop the fan a few inches? I think some fan kits can mount either way.

>Looking good Ernie. Re: the fan, I had a similar problem installing fans in a vaulted space. Although I had a drop rod made for an angled installation, the ceiling was so steep that the "angle of dangle" was more than the kit would accommodate. I made round, wedge profile sub-base of wood that modifed the angle enough to put it within tolerance of the kit. Only trick here is making the mounting bracket secure. I don't remember specifically, but I think I fastened the mounting strap over the face of my wedge base. You do want to make sure that's secured to something that can take the weight.

>the Fan is installed level right now it is just the shrowd? for lack of a better word has a gap on one side Just looking for ideas as to make it look cosmeticallt correct. I think I make make a wedged base out of pine that will match the celing and slide it in around the flange A little creative work with the H&R's and it should match the seling.

>Looking real good, Ernie. The point to levelling the fan attachment area is that with time the fan will vibrate itself into a loose mount if there's a gap anywhere that facilitates this. Similar to shoulders on tenons, which keep the joint tight so there's no room to move and break/loosen.

>The actual monting bracket is tight and level that was achived by mounting the box level and down low enough in the celing to not have the celing effect that it is more of a cosmetic thing. My wife calls it a spider home she wants all spaces tight.

Caulk it! Use the kind you can paint over. Then paint it John Deere Green. Anything and everything looks good painted John Deere Green. There's no way to hide the fact that you have a filled gap so you might as well make it even more obvious. Hell, paint the whole base of the fan green. It will look great!....Marv

>Goods Great Ernie also like the bead board. My neighbor did it on his sun room but used bead board paneling. I'm also a fan of the gloss finish, SWMBO would had that in satin.
