I sat there today and said to myself, man .....that's an expensive piece of baltic birch!

Still waiting for someone to come up with an improved design for eggbeater drill and brace storage/display. I keep shifting mine around,keeping them handy to use but it's still a clumsy setup.---Jack

The "chisel Problem" all started with a visit to my friend Konrad's. He showed me some Imai DT slicks he had,,,,,tried a few out and ....well, I went through a bit of a "conversion".

A few carefully placed emails also with Wiley and the nibble became a feast!

The LN's are now the beaters...lol

This must be a great "Wiley Conspiracy" as I started asking his recommendation for a couple of Japanese saws and I have now also placed an order for some Imai dovetail slicks! And I've also exchanged emails with Konrad about his Imai chisels and now I'm hung up on his new small smoother...when does it ever end?!

On a serious note, can you tell me what sizes you have of the paring slicks? I've ordered 3, 6, 9, and 12mm--looks like you have a couple of larger ones, too. I'd love to get on the list for some bench chisels, as well--what sizes did you get with those? And I know I don't need to ask if you still like them...

It kind of looks like the saws cut themselves a notch to rest in, which adds some charm to it, too.

Yes, on the stable craton we can balance a few things.. :-)

The edge of each saw sit's in a small locating kerf.

I actually cut the stoipped kerf's with the T$.

I will come clean here with these. I did not make these handles, I bought them from Dave Jeske at Blue Spruce Tool Works.

I have several tools made by Dave and I just love the handles he makes, so I asked him if he would consider making some handles for me for the LN chisels I own. We emailed back and forth a few times and here is the result, in African Blackwood.

I will not use these for stricking, but if I needed to I could always swap the hornbeam handles back in.

These Not only "Feel" right, they fit the sockets perfectly and of course look stunning.

I think Dave has nailed this design perfectly.... a great option to consider if you own LN's.

I have no vested interest in these handles, just a Very Happy owner..
