>Unlike the frail Veritas model with its grabby aluminum pad, Oneway Wolverine makes a robust grinder rest with a large supportive pad. I have two. One I keep set at about 30 degrees for free hand renewing of bevels on edged tools and the other is for general usage at whatever angle I need at the time.
I made one from wood. It worked well until I set it afire during a vigorous grinding session.
