>It was one of the lovely moments of my adult life when I realized that my 20-something sons thought that what I had to say was worth listening to. They don't always agree, but at least they listen.

I had to learn to express an opinion, rather than coming off all fatherly/directive; but, once I started doing that, the relationship smoothed out a lot.
