>Looks like it's really starting to come together now Ernie. you'll be done before you know it and then you'll wonder how you lived without it. The roof looks good to me, good transition from the main one.

I'm enjoying the progress pics.

>Nice job! Are you able to shingle a roof like that where you live? I did a large garage last year, and it was a double job where we laid down the ice and water shield over everything, and then did a rolled roof on top of the former. My mother who was 79 at the time was my partner in that project apart from staging the roof and hammering, she was there for 50% of the work.

>No we are going with a free standing metal roof I ordered it yesterday it is precut to fit? let's hope every thing is right. there is a 15% price increase the first of the month wanted to beat that. they tried to fast talk me into paying it because it won't be delivered untill after the first. People should know better that to mess with me. If I write a check today I pay today's prices. I do have legs I can walk you know. I like to mess with people wish I could do that for a job. Yes ToddO I wish it was done every night when I finish I wish I could relax in the Jazzuzi

>here is a kicker for you My back that has been getting worse for several years (I have had two spinal shots to remove pain) is actualy fealing better in the mornings. I guess a little hard work is good for you. I'll post another picture tonight I have most of the boxing on and it all will be done tonight. I would have done it last night but there was no rain so the yard had to be mowed. Ol rider started right up after setting for two years. I left the battery charger on it all night and it fired right up? no bad gas no nuthing! The sun room cuts about 10 minutes out of the mowing also. life is good. Blue birds fledged this morning from the nest box on the mail box post.

It's coming along nicely! Personally I don't see anything wrong with killing a few 'lectrons on a project this size.

Ernie,

You had mention earlier that you was losing weight, and that I think you'll find is the biggest contributor to your declining back pain. Losing weight, especially from the belly takes alot of straight off of the back, and strengthing your abdominal muscles will also make a huge difference*. I'm glad to hear that your back pain is going away.

Sun room is looking good. I had responded to it last night, but just before I was ready to hit the Send key one of the cats stepped on the keyboard and it disapperared. I was too tired to re-write it.

* I am not a doctor, I have learned this by reading, and by trying to keep belly weight off, but here lately I've been gaining some. Need to lay off of the soft drinks as they will put weight on me(and everybody else) real rapidly due to the high sugar content. It's something like 12 Tablespoons per 12 oz can!!

Back problems....

vlparisian in Houston

>Ernie, I feel your pain. My back is out again. You should pick up the book "Treat Your Own Back" by Robin McKenzie.

Excellent information in it. Before you get far in the book he walks you through a series of questions regarding your pain, where and when it occurs and lets you decide whether you need help beyond the book. If you qualify, the exercises are terrific. Should get you pain free and back to your old self again quickly.
