First drawers now doors
Patrick Wheatley
>I spent the weekend working on fitting the doors to the carcass. They now fit with a little friction and I am thinking about starting to install the knife hinges I will be using. This leads to some questions. For the doors, what kind of gap should I leave between the frame and the door? As you can see from the photo, the doors are sitting on the bottom rail, so no gap now, the tops slide in with a little friction in places (needs to be fine tuned). Should I have a 1/16th gap all around each door?
The next question is what I should do where the two doors meet in the middle. Should I worry about beveling the inside of the doors so that they close properly? Should I double the width of the gap?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
