Repair broken washers?

>I aquired a spoke pointer. The screws holding the blade wouldn't budge after much penetrating oil, applied heat, applied cold.....
Finally I used an impact driver (hand powered type) and got things apart at the expense of the two iron washers that provide the 'countersink' for the screw heads. Simple break on each. Can I use JB Weld (seems to be an epoxy) as an adhesive to mend these? Better ideas?

>Find a couple of thick washers the same size as you need and then run a countersink in one side to accomidate the screws to secure the blade. The previous owner probably tightened them too tight and cracked them.

>So is it okay to use power tools as long as it's to repair a hand tool? If you can find any thick washers the right diameter put one on a spare machine screw and tighten it in place with a nut. Then spin it against a stone, belt sander or grinding wheel and add the bevel yourself.
