As a continuation of my earlier post,
I thought I�d share some photos of the progress in cleaning up the Stanley 4 � I bought at an estate sale.
Before I started it looked something like this:
Of course it had the typical pine tar/crud/shavings up behind the blade.
But the blade looked to be full length:
And the lever cap was rusty and pitted:
but hopefully under this layer was a preserved diamond in the rough:

So now after disassembling, soaking and cleaning with mineral spirits and reassembling we have:
