Gramercy holdfasts

>Got my pair of holdfasts Friday, and had a chance to play, er, work with them over the weekend. I had some concerns about the holdfasts working as well as they could, since my bench thickness is a shade under the recommended 1 3/4" (mine is 1 5/8" thick). Turns out there is no problem at all.
The holdfasts are terrific. Extremely handy (easier than quick action clamps) and well worth it. I found that a pair works better than 1 alone - one will hold your workpiece, but in my situation, I can rotate the workpiece against the bench. Two holdfasts and I can't budge the workpiece.
Plus you get the added pleasure of smacking them to set them and to loosen them. It's very neander and kind of fun...
