A.W. Marlow on cutting dovetail pins

>I picked up a technique from one of A. W. Marlow's books on how to cut the pins of a dovetail. After marking the pins from the tails with a knife, don't try to saw or chop the pins right to the line, but just rough out the waste. As the final step, set your chisel in the knife line on the end grain and push straight in. You get clean faces that are right on the line, and the joint is always goes together without any paring (make sure the faces of the tails are perpendicular first). It worked well for me.
