New Lee Valley "Little Victor" #51 block plane...

>Hello Folks,
Has anyone yet handled and/or tried out the new Lee Valley version of the "Little Victor" #51 block plane, their part number 15P01.01 ? Any beta testers out there?
I just got the new catalog today and saw the new addition to their plane line and thought they might be excellent for my own use of making bows, so I ordered two of them. I'll set one up with a straight blade and one cambered.
A question for Rob Lee, why did you folks choose to color the plane body? I don't especially like the reddish-brown color (looks like primer). The nice person who took my order told me it is a powder coating of some type. The original steel color of the antique plane looks nicer to me, but that's just my opinion. Also, I was told it can be used up or down bevel depending on cutting or scraping usage. I'll probably use the scraping setup for bows.
When I get these and try them out, I'll send in a report.
