>Joe Rogers took these pics of Stephen Thomas and his Loopy infill. If you ever get a chance to throw money at Stephen in exchange for a plane, it's worth pulling a second or third mortgage - beautiful tool and nice workmanship.
An yes, I am the dopey looking guy on the left...I'd just gotton back from Alaska and was nicely sleep-deprived and jet-lagged.

>Thanks Todd for hosting the photos. It was great fun rubbing elbows with you at the tables this year. Glad you got back from the left coast in time. It was also good to see Stephen Thomas again. I acted like a fly on the wall and lurked nearby for a while as Stephen and Paul Hamler chatted. I was humbled to be in the presence of 2 great metalsmiths.
BTW do any people recognize the guy framed by Todd and Stephen?
(hint) he too is a hand plane proponent.
Stephen noticed him after I sent him a copy of the snap. I will post the id at a later time if no one guesses the name. :-)

Looks like an incredible time and that plane is beautiful. Something special in owning a one of a kind fine tool like that and meeting the maker.
I know that the feeling of appreciation is reflected by the tool maker when they get the chance to meet the owner of the tool they have just made as well. Great picture!

>Generous assumption Jim but neither Todd or I had the $$$ to buy the Loopy. This one was #6 and still belongs to Stephen. Poor orphan plane. :-( Todd approached as I talked to Stephen and I introduced them. As Stephen had the Loopy in a box I saw a photo op and siezed the moment.JR

I once did the same when I was 20 something and I dreamed of owning a Jag Xk 120, I had some one make my picture with me sitting in one, a dream...I have that picture somewhere...maybe for my next life.
