Infill Adjuster Design Help

>Hello all-
I am currently waist deep in a cast infill smoother project, and need a bit of input/help concerning the adjuster. I have two or three designs floating around in my head right now, but would appreciate some design info from the infill gurus here. My main concern is where the pivot through which the stem threads is attached to the plate that is actually screwed to the rear infill. How is this joint made so the stem can pivot freely with a minimum of backlash and sloppiness? I can provide AutoCAD drawings of my ideas if it would help clarify the issues I have. I would like to see how others have solved this dilemma before I jump in and start making the adjuster.
