Task ight revisited

>A while back Bill Tindall posted a pic of his new shop light. I'm always looking for new ways to light my work so a couple days later when I saw this lamp in the dump I thouht it would the prefect lamp to 'give it a go' with.
So yesterday I'm cleaning up the aftermath of my compressed air plumbing ptoject and I found a double pipe clamp in the cup on the R/S of the pic which set the wheels in motion, it fit on the 3/8" pipe I was using.
This morning I found I had a 3/8 base, I cut a couple pieces of pipe and threaed an end. I figured I'd put a little more work into it so I scraped off the old paint, sanded, primed, and painted the pipe and laight flat black.
While I was waiting for the paint to dry I started working on a base. I found a clear piece of 2 X 10 pine, it had a couple dings in the corners and about the time I said to myself 'it's a shop light' I remembered Enrie's post about my TS rollers and how I should have carved the top to go with the base. So how to do something with this base and I thought back to a demonstrator at a Old House Preservation Show who was making a panel with a hand plane. This was about the time I was starting with HTs. I have never bothered to try until today. I took the piece of scrap I had just cut off, scribed a few lines on it and started planing. Figured out quickly what adjustments I needed to make and went to work on my base.
I did have to make an adjustment with the ROS on one end.
