Are those painted cups on the shelf Rockwell pictures? I have a cup similiar to those with a Rockwell pic on it. It's of the Old Man, little boy and dog watching a sailboat pull out.
I like the stencils on your stairs.
The lamp to the left is crooked. Hate to see the globe get smoked up. ;~)

>Three coats of Benwood Satin Finish Varnish. The Burgandy paint is left over from painting the deck last year. This bench will is action on the deck this summer. Hopefully I can get SWMBO to do some stenciling and accenting of the turnings on the genuine imitation plain gray Deacons Bench that got move to the garage.

>The ONLY history I know of the bench is that I rescued it 4-5 years ago. I don't remember where it was at my old house. but here it's been in my garage so's I could take off my muddy boots.
I started with Citris Strip, but got sick of waiting so I turned off the boiler and put the 5F5 stripper to it. Then a 1/2 dozen different scrappers, I started the sanding with a 1/4 sheet palm sander and once I had all the paint and old finish off went at it with a ROS, sheet are cheaper then disks, and then finished off the knooks and crannies by hand.
I put three coats of Varnish on and then taped off the frame to paint the slats. One coat of primer and three coats of paint later I pulled the tape off and did the clean up.
Those are Rockwell cups and one of them is the same one you have.
All the stenciling in the house was done by the former owner, she did a great job thoroughout the house.
As for the lamp. Unless SWMBO adjusted it since last night all I got to say is it's the camera angle.
