>Oh, come on, craft stores can be your friends. Best prices in town for dowels, brass hardware, frameing hardware (if you don't have time for mail order). But The Lobby has gotten pretty big for it's britches. Thing that burns me (and entertains when I'm not in a hurry !), the clerks are all teenagers with little motivation. They are the generation that was supposed to run the planet with electronics and computers. Man, when a cash register hiccups "Th-th-thats - all - folks". At least when I was taught math the teacher told me fingers and toes were acceptable calculating aids in a pinch. Rant off.

Unless I can't avoid it, and am compelled by awful circumstances, I enter with profound reluctance, pay way, way too much of they just happen to have what I need in stock, and leave vowing never to set foot in there again. (Until Next Time) We have a couple in our area, visited in an unsuccessful attempt to purchase axel pegs prior to last Christmas. Its hard to say which is worse. The local AC Moore is the closest. Maybe it is only that store which lets itself run out of what I'll need when I get there next time. The help couldn't care less and seems to resent any mention of repeated "out of stocks". What is even more frustrating is that they seem only to want ladies in the store. The help and the cashiers are downright frosty to men. I could even get worked up into a rant, but will quit now instead.

The other night just when the store is closing, we get in one line and the young lady messes up the register tape, can't seem to get it threaded right. So we move to another line only to see the cashier leave us to go help the other girl...talk about the blind leading the blind. So now there's two lines that are waiting and getting frustrated while the loudspeaker is telling everyone that the store will close in a few minutes. Finally get checked out and found that I just spent $175 bucks on colored paper, "stickers" and several kinds of tape and adhesives.

>I can't say I hate them but they are a box store so I avoide them. I do like to walk around and see what people are buying? they also have lots of stuff. I tend to think out side of the box so stuff is good for the imagination. Did I tell you people that I bought a Brenina over the weekend? The wife wanted some new drapes and matching pillows for the family room. I bought a $500 tool some cloth and still saved some money on the deal. All my wife could say was how where never mind? isn't the internet great! Did you know they have sewing sites like this place? what a small world. I will me making web clamps for the shop with it. New printers come with nylon webbing to hold the box just a couple round key rings sewn into a loup at one end and you have a spiffy clamp.

Of course, the art supply places I normally used were closed, so I went over to the Hobby Lobby a few blocks away and bought the board. Browsing a bit to see how they compared to the art supply places, I couldn't believe the prices were so high, I barely escaped with the two boards I needed that night. At least I can catch the art supply places during sales and and specials, which I got the impression HL doesn't have all that often, like Home Depot. And there was no one to help if I'd needed it.

Great price on the Brenina, Ernie. Where is this sewing site?
