Aetco chisels

>Hi All.

I just scored a set of four socket paring chisels with really nicely shaped ash handles. I don't think they've been used much. The blades are stamped AETCO.

Anybody know about this company and its history? My guess is that AETCO stands for ___ ___ Tool Co.

I plan to sharpen them tonight and see how well they hold an edge. I'm thinking about a 15 degree bevel. Any advice regarding appropriate bevel angles for paring chisels would be greatly appreciated?

A 15 deg bevel seems very shallow and would be a very fragle edge IMHO. I'd start at 20 deg or so.

>The MP part was almost fun. I was a correctional specialist, which truly sucked. The Prisoners for the most part ware all awaiting discharge with less than honorable discharge papers. Most were getting what they sought (out).
