I used to consult for a company that translates manuals, technical instructions, training videos, etc. into local languages.
Many companies try to sell stuff in Spain using Mexican voices. How about selling something to folks in Hamburg using a heavy Bavarian accent? Canadian French is not the same as French French and the folks in Beijing simply don't understand the folks in Guangdong.
