>Well I purchased a side bead plane and it came in today. Many years ago, someone typed up a label and stuck it to the plane. It had the mfg and the size 5/16. Then they stuck it over the stamping and called it a day. Years later I purchase said plane because it is york pitch, but I am not happy with the size. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box to examine it tonite. I find that there is no way this is a 5/16 bead--it seems closer to 1/8. So I peel the ancient typewritten label off to expose--3/16. I am now a happier guy with a plane that I can use.
