Maybe help me too but shouldn't the top be held on a different way to let it expand. Like it is, it would pull the cabinent apart if the top expands. The top can't move. Just rework the top connection.

>Figure eight fasteners are supposed to be installed so that they can move in the direction of the wood movement. In the case of your fasteners, there, they would normally be installed at about 45 degrees, so they can swivel as the top expands.
With your pullout being right below the top, buttons on the inside aren't an option. You might consider something metal with slots filed in it for the wood to move, or re-orienting the figure eight fasteners.
