Benchtop Wagon vise mockup 1 of 6

>Today I made a mock up of my idea to make a wagon vise that would rige on top of my benchtop. the idea was to have the screw push a "pushblock" to either engage the work directly, or have a piece of wood between it and the work. Either way, I've decided not to go this route as I can forsee the push rod and block being in the way when not in use. I had intened for the main plate to hang off of a lag screw head that was screwed into the edge of the benchtop, but still I feel it would of been a pain in the arse, as each time I was done with it, I'd have to remove it. Nay, having the pushblock flush with the benchtop is the best way to go.
At any rate, I thought that I'd post the pics anyhow as it might give somebodies an idea to use in other applications. Now, mind you, this is a mock up that I made after I had decided not to build it into my bench, so not much care was given in it's construction. I merely made it to prove to myself that it would of in fact worked as designed betwix me ears.

This first pic shows the groove that I filed in the 3/4" threaded rod, and the garter that I made out of a think piece of aluminum plate.
