>Found an old Union plane with what looked like rosewood knob and tote. I'm not sure of the number though. It measures about 7 inches long by about 2 inches wide. would that correspond to the no. 2 size or a no. 1 size? It needs some serious cleaning up. TIA

>The body measures 7 1/8" long by 1 15/16" wide with a 1 5/8" iron. It looks like a typical 1/8" thick or so iron. I think it's a later model as the lateral adjuster has a twist in it like the later model stanleys. But the adjuster knob is brass. Thanks.

>7" long by 2" wide Union bench plane would be a #2 sized plane, highly valued by collectors. It would be worthwhile to see a picture of it to get more accurate opinions on what it really is. A number of collectors specialize in #2 sized planes.
