New Lee Valley handles... would this work?

Does anyone in here know if their ball handles would work on their standard angle block, or did they only detail the low angle block to accept their handles?

I'm really curious. I recall a thread in here a month or two ago about clearance angles behind the blade, and why it would be better on a bevel up plane to have a clearance angle of something more like 25 degrees. Great thread, a lot of heavyweights weighed in, so if those handles would work on their standard block plane, I'd order one pretty much right away, to see for myself if it really would make such a difference.

I've had the occasion to try the tote and high knob on the LABP at the Ottawa Wood Show, and I was impressed. If I owned the plane I would have bought the tote and knob on the spot. But it's getting hard to justify buying a fourth high quality block plane (my wife is quite good about my purchases, but I don't want to test her limits :-)

I use a LV LABP, but not very often. The LN 9.5 seems to fit the job more frequently for me. And the handle add-on makes the plane similar in size (ok, perceived from afar) to a Stanley #3, also a favorite of mine.

The handle won't fit on the Std angle block plane - we've always done extra milling/tapping on the LA Block to accept the ball tail - and that how the vertical tote attaches.
